The bacon grease makes all the other ingredients crisp up nicely while adding an amazing depth of flavour!

Roasted Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts

  • 1 sweet potato
  • 10 Brussels Sprouts
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 lb natural maple bacon
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup


  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Cut parchment paper to line a large baking sheet and set aside. As you prepare the ingredients you can spread them evenly onto the baking sheet. Peel and dice sweet potato into small cubes. Peel off the damaged leaves of the Brussels sprouts, trim the stems and cut them in half. Take the bacon out of the package and dice into small 1″ pieces. Place baking sheet in the oven for 22 minutes. When the timer goes off drizzle the maple syrup and a dash of salt over everything and turn to coat. Then place the baking sheet back into the oven for another 22 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve on top of rice or eat alone.
