I have been so excited to write this post about how I use Canva Pro to create printables! But what is Canva Pro? It’s this amazing program where you can create nearly any document you’d like! Things like business cards, blog images, and printables.

I use Canva A LOT when I create the printables I have listed in My Printables Shop! I also use it to create posters and other things that I use in our homeschooling. And I’ve used it for things like birth announcements, postcards, and invitations!

It’s a user-friendly and intuitive program to use which is great for a beginner! I had no trouble figuring it all out when I first started using it.

How To Use Canva Pro To Create Printables

The first thing you need to do is head on over to the Canva website and create a free account. Click here!

You can get by using the basic free version of Canva for many things, but I upgraded to Canva Pro a while ago because there are SO MANY cool and time-saving features!

You can create your own design or choose from the many templates and options they have on their website. I use the Create A Design button in the top left corner for all of the printables I create using Canva Pro.

You can create all kinds of different things like:

  • flyers
  • CD covers
  • Cards
  • Business cards
  • Resumes
  • Brochures
  • T-Shirt designs

I usually use the US Letter Document option when creating printables that I want to be able to print onto 8.5″x11″ paper that I print here at home. Clicking on this will open a blank white page that you can add your graphics, pictures, and text content to. All you have to do is click or drag and drop. You can edit, crop, and use filters in the program, too.

On the left-hand side of the screen, there are multiple menu options you can choose from depending on what you’re trying to create.

  • photos
  • elements
  • text
  • video
  • background
  • uploads

You can also use the search function at the top of each menu to search for things you want to add.

Once your printable is created you can save it to your computer and it’s yours to keep forever! You can save your printables in many different formats like documents, PDFs, and Jpegs, which is very versatile! You can even publish your item directly to Pinterest!

More On Graphics

I use lots of graphics and pictures from Canva Pro because their selection is HUGE! If I can’t find just what I’m looking for I also create graphics in Adobe Illustrator or purchase graphics that I can’t create on my own or don’t have time to make on marketplaces like Etsy or Fiverr.

If you haven’t heard of Etsy (who hasn’t?) its an amazing marketplace where you can search for any graphics your heart desires!

Fiverr is another great resource for graphics. With Fiverr, you can pay someone as little as %4 to create the exact unique graphics you need!

Now you, too, can create printables that you and your children will enjoy!
