I am so excited to share this preschool curriculum I’ve been using with my 4-year-old lately! The Crafty Classroom is a fun and play-centered curriculum for kids who are pre-school aged to Grade 3. There are so many different types of curriculum to choose from on their website!
What did we use?
We used the Pattern Block Activity Pack for a couple of months. In the beginning, my 4-year-old needed help writing out the tally for the number of blocks she would need in order to build the number or letter or her page. She loves numbers though, so she had no trouble telling me how many she would need and putting them aside.
Tangigrams are the name for the shape pieces used in this activity. We had purchased some many years back to use to make different pictures. I liked that this activity bundle uses them in a fun and play-centered way to get preschoolers to recognize letter and number shapes.
It’s easier for little ones to form letter and number shapes using a tool like the tangigram than to try to write them since their finger dexterity is often not mature enough to form them using a writing tool like a pencil. This was a great early math introduction for my preschooler!
What do you get?
In the Pattern Block Activity Pack, you get access to 230 printable pages of activities which have 3 different levels of difficulty for your child to advance through. Each sheet can be paired with any of the pattern block mats which cover alphabet, numbers, animals, transportation, seasons, and holidays.
Once you download the activity pack it’s yours for life and you can print out as many sheets as you’d like whenever you’d like. The best part is that it doesn’t take any prep for your child to participate in the activities included. Just print, take out your tangigram shapes, grab a pencil, and have some fun!
I look for play-centered activities when choosing different preschool curriculum for my young children and The Crafty Classroom has lots to choose from!
What else is available?
The Crafty Classroom offers so many other amazing curriculum ideas! Here are a few:
R.E.A.D. Curriculum Notebook K
R.E.A.D. Curriculum Notebook Gr. 1
Interactive Math Curriculum Notebook K
Alphabet Letter of the Week Curriculum Notebook
Bible Letter of the Week Curriculum Notebook
Sight Word of the Week Program
Fables & Tales
USA Activity Bundle Pack
These other programs cover many subjects like math, science, bible studies, writing, geography, and reading. I love the simple graphics and easy to follow instructions offered in these programs. No prep is needed by you!
What will I use next?
I would love to use the Alphabet Letter of the Week Notebook program. It takes your child through each letter and lets them learn about it in a fun and creative way. Each letter of the week has 25 printable pages that you can use to help your child learn about each letter.
Another program I would love to use with my 7-year-old is the How To Write A Paragraph bundle. She is an avid reader and wants to learn how to write her own books. We’re currently working on sentence structure and this bundle would nicely expand on what we’re doing by giving her the next step in writing her own books!
This bundle follows a 4-day-a-week schedule which perfectly matches with our existing schedule since we only school 4 days a week currently. We go through part of the summer, too! That’s what I love about homeschooling, you can go at your own pace and on your own schedule!
